June, July, August......
Is it that time already?

Have you guessed what I'm talking about?

Time to roll out of bed and
sharpen the pencils.

It is back to the daily routines of
getting up early, finding the backpack,
and heading off to school.
Kids are glad to see their friends again,
but the idea of homework and tests
is not making them jump for joy.
Parents are relieved they no longer have to
find ways to keep the kids entertained.
No more swim lessons, no more camps,
no more babysitters to pick up and take back
Heaven help the household when a child was bored!

Let me ask a question now...
When do you graduate?
Preschool, kindergarten, grade school?
Maybe after high school or college?
When are you able to close all the books?
Hopefully your answer is "when I die"
Life is way too short and precious to let
learning opportunities just slip away.

Take the time to sit down and see what
the children around you are studying.
Parents, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles,
or a neighbor across the street.
Let them know they are special and you care.
Encourage their efforts and
each step of success or failure.
Actually there is no such thing as failure,
instead it is a learning experience
that can have great value.
You can play a part in the outcome
by the way you react and respond
Respect?  Support?  Guide?
Help them to see the positive.
Share with them the "can do" attitude!

Learn and grow with them.
If you already know all about it, then
learn to see it through a child's eyes.
Remember the awe and wonder that a toddler
has when they discover something new?

Go ahead pick a dandelion and blow,
watch an airplane glide by in the sky.
Listen to the popcorn kernels as
they explode into fluffy treats.
Feel the relief and peace when you finally
get to sink back into the recliner.
Notice the smell of the dirty laundry.
Appreciate all the hands that touched
the cloth as it was woven and cut, stitched,
distributed and purchased by you.

Each and every minute of every day
is a lesson of life.
Everything that happens to you,
or around you,
is part of your "textbook" of
experience and wisdom.
The lessons learned are up to you.
You can shrug them off and ignore them,
or you can tuck them away as a blessing.
The choice is yours,
you get to pick the "grade".
Either way... those minutes have now
become part of you, your values and beliefs,
your goals and dreams.
Most importantly your entire outlook on life.

What an awesome responsibility and
a wonderful gift you can share with children
of any age, race, or family background!

Are you ready to share the Lessons of Life?
Go ahead, learn and pass it around.
